A choreographic reflection on the omnipresence of noise.
Performance, Dance, Music In her piece NOICE/NOISE, a Franco-German co-production, Paula Rosolen / Haptic Hide develops a choreographic reflection on the omnipresence of noise — from digital overload to the political conflicts of our time. Inspired by the Futurist movement of the early 20th century, Rosolen, together with three performers, explores how noise shapes our bodies and reflects social and historical transformations — not only as sound, but also as visual, physical, and emotional interference. This version is an adaptation specially created for Nuit Blanche. Two performances will take place during the evening: at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The piece was selected by Aerowaves as part of the Artist #Twenty26 program. 2 performances of 40 minutes: First performance at 7 p.m. Second performance at 9 p.m. Paula Rosolen studied dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and holds an MA in choreography and performance from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at JLU Giessen. In her choreographic work, she develops a distinct gestural language for each piece, giving rise to autonomous aesthetic worlds shaped by precise visual and sound choices. Her works are connected by a practice grounded in ongoing research and a sustained interest in the body as a site of tension between the organic and the mechanical, the individual and the collective. Movement functions there as a poetic space, allowing multiple layers of interpretation, nourished by pop culture, mass media, and historical events that repeat over time and are recontextualized in contemporary discourse. Her works — including Aerobics! A Ballet in 3 Acts (2015), FLAGS (2020), 16BIT (2022), Beat by Bits (2022), THEATER (2024/2025), NOICE/NOISE (2025), and ICONICA (2025) — have been presented internationally in theaters, museums, galleries, and public spaces, including at Festival Paris l’été, Espace 1789, Théâtre de la Ville – Paris, deSingel, Theaterfestival Basel, Festival Tokyo, Tanzplattform Deutschland, Mousonturm, Tanzhaus NRW, HELLERAU, schwere reiter, Museum Angewandte Kunst, Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, and Loods6 Amsterdam. She has been a guest choreographer at Oper Köln, Stadttheater Giessen, and Staatstheater Darmstadt. Rosolen is Aerowaves Artist #Twenty26. She received the First Prize of Danse Élargie (Théâtre de la Ville de Paris) and has taken part in numerous international residencies, including at Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, Saison Foundation in Tokyo, and the Hessian Cultural Foundation residency at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
