Jungle Haletante, an immersive kinetic and sound installation.

The Jungle Haletante installation is an immersive kinetic and sound installation designed by artist Stéphane Blanquet. The work will be unveiled in Paris for Nuit Blanche 2026, in the chapel of Hôpital Tenon. Conceived on a human scale, the installation fully occupies the chapel’s unique architecture to immerse viewers in a troubling sensory experience, on the border between dream and reality. Stéphane Blanquet unfolds his universe populated by hybrid figures: sculptures painted in black and white, blending human silhouettes with mythical or fantastical creatures. Dreamlike motifs intertwine throughout, encouraging visitors’ intimate projection into a moving mental landscape, like an invitation into the heart of the artist’s nocturnal visions. The visual device is based on a play of black lights, projections, and mirrors that fragment and multiply the forms. The volumes vibrate, distort, and come alive in an almost hypnotic dynamic, plunging viewers into an unstable perception of reality, as if filtered through a dream state. This kinetic dimension gives the whole work its own breath, almost organic. This visual immersion is accompanied by a sound creation emitted from the chapel’s vaults: breaths, whispers, creaks, and metallic resonances mingled with anamorphosed organic sounds. This diffuse, shifting sound material, amplified by the architecture of the place, heightens the loss of bearings and extends the sensory experience, inviting viewers into an inner exploration where reality tips into a dense and unsettling imaginary world. In partnership with the Direction du Mécénat et de la Culture of the AP-HP Sorbonne-Université hospital group.
