Scarlatti the Dazzling, a concert of ten sonatas with luminous scenography.
Harpsichord, Video, Monumental installation Scarlatti the Dazzling is a concert in ten sonatas enhanced by radiant scenography, inspired by 18th-century shadow theater and music boxes. These harpsichord sonatas reveal a great richness of nuance. Their “augmentation,” created by Hélène Mugot, is not intended to visually distract the listener, but to sustain their attention throughout the concert and, after each sonata, to show them the luminous echo of what they have just heard: nine interludes leading up to the final surprise. Hélène Mugot was born in Bougie, Algeria. She now lives in a gray city where she strives to rekindle the light. She knows full well that she will not succeed before closing her eyes, and that makes her laugh. Mathilde Mugot is a harpsichordist and professor at the Conservatoire de musique de Nice. Performance at 10 p.m. In addition, a work by Moffat Takadiwa is on display inside the church.
