One day, I was asked to come and give a reading on the theme of love, of loves. So I put out a call to my network of authors, to those who write about struggle, dissident bodies, and minoritized experiences. To those who wield rage and revolution. I suggested that, for once, they share their love letters with me. Many responded to the call with great enthusiasm. We then realized that placing letters about love, sex, and deep tenderness side by side had an almost magical effect." Sandra Calderan, director and actor Sandra Calderan writes poetry, but poetry to be spoken, heard, and lived. An actor and director, she thinks of her poetic writing as a physical gesture, a bodily commitment that must be transmitted live. Poetry is at the heart of her engaged, political work, which tirelessly retraces the stories of forgotten, wounded, and radiant lives. Alongside her performances, she leads numerous cultural initiatives within the Compagnie des Hauts Parleurs.
