À propos

In the age of cathedrals, we will put women in the spotlight through their craft, rural, commercial, intellectual, and political activities, because they had freedoms and responsibilities that they would lose in the centuries that followed.

Spanning from the 5th to the 15th century, misogynistic and male-dominated medieval society ignored women. Yet, contrary to popular belief, they were not always the “minors” they were made out to be in the 19th century. In the age of cathedrals, we will put them in the spotlight through their craft, rural, commercial, intellectual, and political activities, because they had freedoms and responsibilities that they would lose in the centuries that followed. Speaker Beatrice Erlich, in a new type of presentation for this exceptional speaker, who usually accompanies us on exhibition visits.
