A contemporary music concert centered on Jonathan Harvey, Riccardo Nova and Justė Janulytė, blending cello, piano and electronics in newly created works and explorations of sound.
Conceived by cellist Francesco Dillon, this evening has its origins in Jonathan Harvey’s Advaya. In the Buddhism that influenced the English composer, Advaya means “not two”; the cello is reflected in the sampler’s sounds and the texture of electronic sounds. Riccardo Nova, who studied Indian music, explores microtonality here. Unity and circular ecstasy also belong to the monochrome style of Justé Janulyté.
