An Anthony McCall installation featuring solid-light projections in the Espace de projection de l’Ircam, at the intersection of expanded cinema, light sculpture, and spatial experience.
Anthony McCall, an internationally celebrated artist and filmmaker, presents a series of “solid light” projections. In the Espace de projection de l’Ircam, he finds an exceptional setting for these silent vertical installations, which intersect with musical works. The fascination of these light sculptures lies in the simplicity of their setup: a projected shape that becomes a cone, a singular sensation of projection, movement, and an interior and exterior space. Installations presented: Anthony McCall, Breath, 2004; You and I (II), 2010; Breath (III), 2005; Skirt (I), 2010. Coproduction Musée national d’Art moderne/Département culture et création/Ircam-Centre Pompidou.
