A participatory video work by Barbara Butch brings together filmed declarations of love, turning Paris into a collective and sensitive space for expression.
We Love Each Other, video visible on LED-screen trucks traveling through the streets of Paris, 2026 Conceived by Barbara Butch especially for Nuit Blanche, We Love Each Other is a participatory video creation that turns Paris into a collective stage for love. Ahead of the event, a call for participation invited Parisians to take part in a simple, universal declaration on camera: “We love each other” — alone, as a duo, with family, or among friends. These testimonials, captured in different places around the city, come together in a collective video work imagined as a kaleidoscope of faces and a sequence of words of love. During Nuit Blanche, the videos can be seen on LED trucks moving through Paris, bringing voices and faces into dialogue and revealing the richness of the stories, sensibilities, and bonds that run through the Capitale. With this joyful and unifying installation, Barbara Butch transforms public space into a place of sharing and encounters, where love is expressed freely and becomes a collective, visible, and luminous experience.
