an immersive installation that transforms the night into a dreamlike space of memory and symbolic repair.

Recoudre la nuit, Installation in situ, 2026 Recoudre la nuit is an installation by Romuald Jandolo that brings together a constellation of levitating silhouettes, suspended and animated by disco ball motors. Created for Nuit Blanche, it unfolds a space where rotation fragments the light and unsettles points of reference, transforming oppression into a state of dreamlike suspension. Disarmed, these figures become ghostly, pierced by flashes of light, sketching out a gesture of repair in which love emerges as a force of movement. Between dread and wonder, this immersive installation multiplies presences, inviting visitors into a procession guided by a force of attraction, transforming the night into a space for reclaiming and metamorphosing symbols. The installation is part of the Pardon pour la lumière cycle (Confort Moderne, Poitiers, 2025) and extends the artist’s reflection on the shadowy areas of History, where certain bodies have been made invisible or condemned. Here, the night becomes a sensitive material, crossed by fleeting memories. The capirote, drawn from the rituals of the Semaine sainte de Séville, embodies anonymity and penance. Removed from its context, it becomes a symbol of authority and terror, reflecting an ambivalence already perceptible in Goya, between the grotesque, violence, and the sacred. an immersive installation that transforms the night into a dreamlike space of memory and symbolic repair. Romuald Jandolo (born in 1988 in Lille, lives and works in Normandie) develops an artistic practice at the crossroads of installation, performance, and image. Shaped by a personal history connected to itinerancy, his work explores marginal identities, transnational narratives, and figures of exclusion. Between visual poetry and political tensions, he composes hybrid worlds where memory, bodies, and fiction intertwine. Co-production: Le Confort Moderne. Courtesy Galerie Alain Gutharc
