With The Spirit of 3, Christophe Dal Sasso, in collaboration with American saxophonist and singer Shekinah Rodz, takes us somewhere we might not have expected, although the tireless composer never strays too far from his first loves: jazz and the classical repertoire. Drawing on his past compositions for big bands and choirs, as well as symphonic orchestrations, he presents a repertoire that is both profound and celebratory, where Mediterranean, African and Indian rhythms meet. Three, once again. A decidedly fundamental number that exalts everything binary within us: our arms, our eyes, our ears, and even the beating of our hearts. Three, to represent birth, life and death.
