À propos

For one evening during Nuit Blanche 2026, let yourself be carried away by a sensory exploration of the sea, blending art, science, and immersive sound. Free and open to everyone, the MAIF Social Club invites you to discover these marine worlds that surround and shape us in a new way.

To evoke the extraordinary mysteries of the emergence of life on Earth, the fantastic creatures of the deep, surprising stories of adventure and exile, and the future of marine ecosystems, the MAIF Social Club is bringing visual artists, CNRS researchers, and an audio-naturalist aboard for its Nuit Blanche. The Sea, the Night is an invitation to reconnect with the vast expanses of the ocean, at a time when our relationship with them says so much about the way we consider, or disregard, the world around us, living things, and otherness. ON THE PROGRAM: - 🌊 The exhibition Seeing the Sea - 🎙️ Micro-lectures: Facing the Sea Early in the evening, attend the CNRS micro-lectures Les Échappées inattendues. Dive into the ocean, a vital environment for ecosystems, populations, and the climate, through the perspectives of three scientists. Biology, ecology, humanities... a range of complementary approaches to explore the different challenges facing a changing sea. With Sarah Samadi, CNRS ecologist specializing in deep-ocean exploration, and Jade Nijman, doctor in visual cultures at the Institut Jean-Nicod, on representations of the ocean in the arts. - 🎧 Immersive sound experience Throughout the evening, let yourself be carried away by the sound creation of explorer and audio-naturalist Fernand Deroussen, composed especially for Nuit Blanche. Lying down in front of a high-definition acoustic installation, you will listen to the song of waves, seabirds, foghorns, and even sounds made by shrimp, octopuses, and cetaceans. A score usually invisible to our ears. An evening to listen, marvel, and reconnect with the ocean through art and science.
