All-powerful and eccentric architect, Willy le Nalbaut lays the foundations of a world where buildings collide only to embrace, where plants burst into feverish laughter, and where stray windows frame the horizon. Through deliberate negligence, he sets aside the rules of academic perspective, almost making us dizzy. The leap from the bed exceeds the scale of the elements.

Willy le Nalbaut is in constant dialogue with painting. He materializes his trivially metaphysical entanglements in multiple mischievous chimeras. He acts, and painting receives, which in turn reveals itself to him. This primary relationship is always made of mutual intrigue. These chimeras mock him, mock us, and he jeers, with an ever-endearing cynicism, at life, which he sees as one vast escapade. Long live the meteorite! Long live the crowned cow! At times one can perceive in him a Diogenes, an unexplained mentor, but also a Diogenes as a pictorial syndrome. Bread, wine, good bread, good wine, please, in the distance. The canvas-artist space becomes a place of dialogue between painted objects and feigned thoughts; everything is chatter and verbiage, easy to manipulate, sometimes taking the form of a stab in the back. At times he must guess what these chimeras are telling him, even if it means occasionally imposing his will without ignoring the resentment that these avatars, in the midst of an autonomy crisis, sometimes express toward him. For he listens to the mysterious adventures that life offers him and that painting reveals to him. Like a myth in which abstract or concrete experience, in which life is cursed or savored, seeks to be digested by a shared imagination. Ultimately, he paints an absurd theater, and in total complicity, he and his painting conspire to kidnap the viewer through multiple details and a luxuriant clamor. Text written by William Lambeau, ✦ WILLY LE NALBAUT Willy Le Nalbaut was born on April 25, 1989 in Talence in Gironde. The son of a father who was himself an artist, he has drawn naturally since childhood. At 18, he left for Paris to complete a preparatory year as well as the first year in Graphic Design / art direction at Penninghen. Tired of the school system and its constraints, he decided to cut his studies short. A few years later, in 2012, he left for Bruxelles, where he would truly begin to find his pictorial identity and take part in a few exhibitions. In 2014, joining the multidisciplinary artists' collective « L’oiseau bleu » enabled him to organize various events, both musical and artistic. In 2020, after 8 years spent in Belgique, he decided to return to live in France, in a village in Charente, where he settled with artist friends. There, he continues to develop his practice and devotes himself to it full time. ☛ https://willy-cochon.hotglue.me/
