The Company of Priests of Saint-Sulpice opens the doors of the Maison Saint-Sulpice in the 6th arrondissement of Paris for an unprecedented exhibition: La Solitude, history of the novitiate of the Priests of Saint-Sulpice.
This exhibition highlights the history of the novitiate of the Company of Priests of Saint-Sulpice, founded by Jean-Jacques Olier in the 17th century. Through numerous archival documents and works of art, the tour allows visitors to follow the evolution and understand the "spirit" of this Sulpician novitiate, known as "Solitude." This period of retreat continues today to train priests who wish to dedicate themselves to the formation of the clergy in seminaries. As a place of formation and discernment for priestly vocations, the Saint-Sulpice seminary has welcomed generations of future priests from across France and around the world. The exhibition is aimed at anyone interested in the history of the Church in France, the Diocese of Paris, and also in discreet and little-known Parisian heritage.
