Clothing is a gendered object. Historically, it can be seen as a marker of women's emancipation. Fashion helps us better understand what is at stake around clothing.
This conference will be led by Manon Renault, who teaches at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, particularly as part of the Master Genre, Médias et Cultural Studies. She is currently completing a thesis on Parisian fashion in relation to its digital present, supervised by Eric Maigret, an important figure in the introduction of Cultural Studies in France. At the same time, she has headed the fashion pages of Les Inrockuptibles since 2022 and supervises the theses of art direction students at Institut français de la Mode. Free admission
