The theater class led by Virginie Barreteau and Eric Jakobiak presents a montage based on Martin Crimp’s Cyrano, translated by Fabrice Melquiot, and Edmond Rostand’s masterpiece, Cyrano de Bergerac, one of the most famous plays in the French repertoire.
Cyrano is an angry idealistic poet in Edmond Rostand’s masterpiece and a master of contemporary spoken word in Martin Crimp’s version. An inspired poet and a young man uneasy with his appearance, Cyrano is in love with his cousin Roxane. His cousin loves Christian, a very handsome man but not very gifted at expressing his feelings. Yet Roxane is inseparably in love with physical beauty and poetry. By combining their qualities, Cyrano and Christian will try to win Roxane over.
