Soline Danse traces Soline’s journey from childhood to adulthood. Raised in a family of artists and guided by sensitivity and imagination, she seems to grow up buoyed by the support and love of those close to her.
From a very young age, she develops a passion for dance and knows she wants to make it her career. At eight, her failure to pass the entrance exam for the Paris Opera Ballet School creates the first crack. Soline refuses to give up: she pushes herself even harder, sculpts her body and tests her limits, even at the risk of endangering her health. Without realizing it, her parents fail to see her worsening distress. Soline will be a dancer! But what if she could now find balance somewhere beyond dance? With humor and restraint, Armelle Gouget puts into words her personal experience as a former classical dancer forced to cut her career short. Pascal Sangla provides musical accompaniment for this funny, hopeful performance.
