Now based in Nantes, Tânia Raquel Caetano grew up in Paris after arriving in France. She began making music at the age of 3 or 4 in the community bar her parents ran in Portugal, encouraged by customers who urged her to sing. She has always interspersed her concerts of French music, jazz, or bossa nova with a few a cappella Fados and, during one of her performances in a Parisian bistro in 2015, she was invited to a “Fado vadío” evening in Paris. There she discovered Fado in its entirety, opening the door to a world that, until then, had been unknown to her. This music, which she had sung since adolescence to reconnect with her roots, became a song of the soul, one she wants to be sincere and direct; since then, she has decided to devote herself to it...
