Album release: Happy People (Noalou Productions - 2026)
“Celestial voice, groove, charisma, crisp melodic lines… Beyond being a ‘10-in-1’ artist, the beautiful Siân Pottok is simply a virtuoso.” – ELLE After the deep waters of her first album, “Deep Waters,” with roots stretching from India to Congo, Slovakia to the United States, via Belgium, Siân Pottok pulls us by the sleeve toward sub-Saharan light with the release of her new EP “HAPPY PEOPLE” (scheduled for release on January 30, 2026). With the collaboration of Fatoumata Diawara, Tom Excell, Edouard Coquard, Bruno Guglielmi and her live musicians, the source of her African roots resurfaces in the production of this EP to embrace the credo “stand up and dance.” Between irony, smiles and provocation, she explores the paradoxes of human beings: social issues and their contradictions when it comes to protecting the planet, the pursuit of artificial happiness dictated in particular by social media, the defense of “nothing is ever written” and of individual freedoms versus the social hypocrisy around us… Produced by Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa, David Walters….), this “Happy People” opus highlights catchy melodies, afro-pop rhythms, saxophone riffs evoking the world of Mulatu Astatke and the celestial sound of the k’mele ngoni in dialogue with Siân’s voice, both powerful and delicate. A UK Afro Pop touch brings a bright, unifying freshness to this EP. Between London, Paris, and Kinshasa, Siân Pottok creates a unique sound: a bold blend of refinement and generosity where depth meets an irresistible urge to dance.
