Jean-Jacques Elangue and Josselin Arhiman bring together contemporary jazz, Afro-Caribbean influences and Creole music in a free-form duo where improvisation and the energy of live performance take center stage.
The duo formed by Jean-Jacques Elangué on saxophone and Josselin Arhiman on piano is above all a meeting of two musical sensibilities, two generations, brought together around a shared language: jazz in all its diversity. In this intimate, stripped-down format, centered on listening and dialogue, the two musicians create a space of freedom where original compositions and standards from the repertoire intersect, leaving room for improvisation, exchange and sonic exploration. Jean-Jacques Elangué, a saxophonist from the French-speaking jazz scene, works in projects where contemporary jazz and Afro-Caribbean colors come together, with playing focused on sound and improvisation. He has shared the stage with artists Tom McClung, Alain Jean-Marie, Tony Allen, Emmanuel Djob & Afro soul gang, Damon Albarn, Manu Dibango. And many others. Josselin Arhiman, pianist and composer, follows a path between modern jazz, Creole music and improvised practices, through numerous collaborations on jazz and cross-cultural stages.
