There is a grandpa and a grandma who live in a beautiful house, in a garden by a lake. It is a heavenly place, and many animals live there: a white swan, a red dog, a yellow cat, a green mouse, and a black snake. But the thing is, there is nothing to eat in this place: no fish in the lake, no bones to sink their teeth into, a mouse too fast to be caught and eaten by the cat, not even a piece of cheese on Grandpa and Grandma’s plates! Every evening, Grandpa, Grandma, and all the animals fall asleep with empty bellies and sad hearts. One night, Grandpa has a dream… He dreams of a vegetable garden full of vegetables partying and dancing in the moonlight! The next morning, overjoyed, he plants a carrot seed; he encourages it, supports it, and showers it with love for weeks and weeks. The sun warms the seed, the rain waters it… After some time, the little seed that has received so much love and attention has grown so well that it is impossible to pull it out of the ground. It is truly very tall, big, and plump. Everyone will help one another dig up this carrot. Will Grandpa, Grandma, and all the animals manage to share a good soup?
