ECHOES OF DRAG THE LINE brings together La Sototgraphy’s photographic work and Leila.Aqua’s watercolors in a shared exploration: revealing the person behind the drag. For two years, La sototgraphy explored the world of drag through black-and-white photography, looking beyond the stage and its artifice. The aim is not to showcase the costume, but to reveal the person behind it, with their emotions, strengths, and vulnerabilities. Meeting Leila.Aqua opened up a new dimension for the project. Using previously unseen photographs from Drag The Line, she creates watercolors in soft, muted tones, where emotion takes precedence over reality. Her works do not reproduce the images: they extend and transform them, giving them a new resonance. Moving between black and white and color, photography and painting enter into dialogue in a shared pursuit of authenticity. This collaboration gave rise to “Echoes of Drag The Line,” a moving and immersive exhibition offering a profoundly human, intimate, and contemporary perspective on the world of drag.
