Building bridges between people in exile and local communities, through yoga… and beyond yoga!
Yoga in solidarity! The story of Yadullah Mousawi, a yoga instructor, is one of exile. From Afghanistan to France, it is marked by hardship, but also by learning and encounters. One of those encounters changed his life by bringing yoga into it in 2020, like a second wind while he was surviving in the Moria refugee camp in Greece. First an exile, then an asylum seeker, and now a political refugee, he has chosen to keep resisting and connecting through sharing yoga, helping to rebuild… others. In 3 years, Yadu Yoga has created a safe, warm space for everyone in the heart of a lively but cold city. It has even become a community of more than 200 people! There, people experiment, listen, live, act, and overcome challenges, … together. Students from all backgrounds come together, make progress, and above all build connections. The best way is to experience it yourself, letting Yadullah guide you (more or less) gently through his unique yoga challenges! For me, yoga is a space of equality where no one worries about your face, color, gender, language, status… It is one of the best ways I have found to connect people and shift boundaries. Yadullah, Who is it for? The class is open to everyone: all ages, backgrounds, languages, statuses, and levels.
