DEAD FINKS (10:00 PM) (Indie punk - Berlin, DEU) Dead Finks is a New Zealand duo made up of Erin Violet and Joseph Thomas, playing post-punk music in the vein of Wire, Sonic Youth and Parquet Courts. In its current lineup, the band is a quartet based in Berlin. The band began to gain recognition in 2021 when the video for their single “(My Human) Extinction” premiered on the influential channel Harakiri Diät, becoming a modest hit in underground punk circles. They drew further attention after being handpicked by Detroit post-punk mainstays Protomartyr to open several dates on their 2022 European tour, then opened for Dry Cleaning throughout the European leg of their 2023 world tour. A few beers and 100 concerts later, after winning the Versailles Live springboard, selling out la Boule Noire in a week and making a music video themselves, the band Polyphone has now found its path, its voice and its audience. At the crossroads between yesterday’s indie rock and today’s electronic pop, Polyphone gets crowds going and makes young and old dance alike.
