Drawing on the diary and correspondence of Fanny Mendelssohn, writer Pauline Delabroy-Allard (Ça raconte Sarah, Qui sait) imagines a sensitive, embodied text, brought to the stage by actress Marianne Denicourt (Hippocrate, Médecin de campagne).
Far from fixed images, the performance gives voice to a musician at the heart of Berlin’s 19th-century artistic life: a virtuoso pianist and prolific composer who was long prevented from publishing her works. Blending storytelling, drawing, and music, La vie de Fanny M. brings a life path into focus: that of a woman who composes, doubts, resists, and gradually asserts her place.
