Come discover the recipe for creating the ocean floor! A workshop led by Jean-Arthur Olive, a geodynamicist specializing in the brittle deformation of the Earth's crust at the Geology Laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure.
To make an ocean, you first need to create some space by pulling a few continents apart, then add lots of water, trigger plenty of volcanic eruptions… and wait a few tens of millions of years! Come discover the recipe for creating the ocean floor, its spectacular mountains and strange inhabitants, as well as how we study them using our oceanographic research vessels and yellow submarines. In partnership with the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) and its family program Petites exploratrices, petits explorateurs de la connaissance (PE²C), for which this talk was created.
