“Together, that’s everything.” With Anne-Sophie Turion, the audience becomes the beating heart of the performance. After criss-crossing the Bastille neighborhood last summer, she now slips into the former Sorbonne Nouvelle university library to explore, with humor and poetry, our capacity for attention, weakened in the all-digital age. Throughout the performance, everyone is guided by an individual score, follows their own path, and influences those of others. Subverting what one might expect from a participatory creation, the setup makes the audience the heart and driving force of the action. Yet here, everything happens almost imperceptibly, through nearly invisible micro-actions and moments of introspection, reading, and observation… Little by little, our smallest gestures resonate with one another, creating a unique collective experience: encounters take shape. Attention shifts to the details, the here and now, the stranger before us. With gentleness and wit, the piece creates a space for listening to others and engaging with the present, where the ordinary opens the door to the intimate.
