This time, Elisa Lécuyer celebrates the music and incandescent spirit of Betty Carter, a visionary singer and essential figure in modern jazz, known for her fierce independence and radical art of improvisation. An artist of rare freedom, she turned the voice into a boundless field of exploration: fractured phrasing, an elusive sense of time, constant play with silences and shifts, reinventing every standard as living material.
