À propos

To mark the launch of Station to Station, Lafayette Anticipations is hosting an evening dedicated to this ten-episode podcast conceived by Pierre-Emmanuel Becherand.

Designed as an audio journey through contemporary metropolises, the series explores what metro networks reveal about our cities, from their architecture and uses to public policies, urban economies, and collective imaginaries. From Paris to Mexico, from Washington to Naples, from Seoul to São Paulo, each episode makes a stop in a different city, turning the metro into a privileged observatory of the ways we inhabit, move through, and live together in urban spaces. This evening is an opportunity to discover the podcast before opening up a discussion around the issues it raises: what do transport infrastructures say about our societal choices? What place does the common good occupy within them, and how are the notions of mobility and public space being redefined there? This event, titled “What if the metro told the story of society?”, co-organized with the Fonds de dotation Quartus pour l'Architecture and moderated by Camille Juza - a radio director and author specializing in architecture and urban planning - brings together Dominique Perrault, internationally renowned architect and urban planner, Antoine Picon, historian of architecture and technology, and Anne Jarrigeon, an anthropologist working on the practices and imaginaries of mobility, bringing together perspectives from architecture, history, and anthropology. Produced by Binge Audio, Station to Station is created in partnership with the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Société des grands projets, and the Fonds de dotation Quartus pour l'Architecture.
