This year, festival Rhizomes returns for an anniversary edition. Let's celebrate the festival's 25th anniversary together in an electrifying, eclectic atmosphere, ultimately very 18ème arrondissement.
A quarter of a century is worth celebrating! For 25 years now, festival Rhizomes has been watering gardens, quays, arenas and other "dance-flora" of the Paris basin with a bouquet of free concerts and Balades Extraordinaires, giving pride of place to riches born "from the night of songs"! An ode to otherness, encounter and the sharing of singular and plural imaginations, this "anniversary" program continues its treasure hunt through sounds and wonders, while inviting back landmark figures from the long love story Rhizomes has woven with thousands of artists and citizens from every background. More committed than ever to sowing joy and hope in a supportive, fulfilled world, proud of its differences, it brings together, in joyful disorder, afro-punk Jupiter & Okwess (Congo Kinshasa), Venezuelan singer Rebecca Roger Cruz and her Rio Abajo project, the trio led by Palestinian singer Christine Zayed (with Sylvain Barou on nomadic flutes), Malian diva Mah Damba with Litanie des Cîmes, halfway between Mandingue music, jazz and chamber music, the Reunionese "Maloya Power" of the collective LINDIGO, new flights from the group Mazalda with Egyptian singer Hend Elrawy ("ZERZURA"), the wildly offbeat electro-Japanese world of Maïa Barouh, the sublime Irish duo Seamus & Cahoime, the Italian-style dance party of Télamuré with singer Lluba de Angelis, the intoxicating voices of the duo Leï, the sensitive strings of Stranded Horse and Boubacar Cissokho... Rhizomes continues the waking dream of its Balades Extraordinaires, 100% natural journeys without electricity, with floating or aerial stages designed by tree climbers, where musicians, dancers, circus artists, birds, horses and other creatures from the four corners of the Earth will surprise you at every turn of song!
