For the fifth year, the Palais Galliera is turning into an open-air cinema to delight lovers of fashion, history, and film!
From June 11 to 13, the film festival makes its grand return with a program connected to the exhibition La mode du 18e siècle. Un héritage fantasmé. Over three days, the museum will spotlight a selection of exceptional films: - Lady Oscar, Jacques Demy’s famous film that immerses us in the splendor and intrigues of the court of Versailles on the eve of the Revolution, through the romantic destiny of a young woman raised as a man to become captain of Marie-Antoinette’s guard - Les Liaisons dangereuses, by Stephen Frears, adapted from the epistolary novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, in which Glenn Close and John Malkovitch embody cruel games of seduction and manipulation at the heart of the French aristocracy of the Enlightenment - Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, by Céline Sciamma, awarded at the Festival de Cannes in 2019, a sensitive and painterly fresco that traces, in late 18th-century Brittany, the birth of a forbidden love between a painter and her model Each screening will be preceded by an introduction by a specialist, as well as free access to the exhibition.
