The Conservatoire Nadia et Lili Boulanger is pleased to invite you to two exceptional performances devoted to the operatic world of Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski, through a selection of emblematic scenes from his three-act opera, Eugène Onéguine.
Originally composed for students at the Conservatoire de Moscou, this major work of the Russian repertoire offers musical and dramatic richness that is ideal for training young singers. By choosing to present its most striking moments, Yves Coudray and Leonid Karev wanted to give students an immersion in the “major repertoire,” while showcasing their talent and artistic sensitivity. This project is under the musical direction of Leonid Karev, accompanying pianist and specialist in Russian language and culture, whose linguistic expertise will bring valuable depth to this interpretation. With the participation of the opera class, these performances promise to let all the poetry, passion, and melancholy of Tchaïkovski’s work resonate in the acoustic setting of our auditorium.
