An essential writer, a wonderful storyteller for her granddaughters, a passionate woman of letters and a friend to artists, George Sand continues to delight children and adults alike. To mark the 150th anniversary of her death, celebrated on June 8, dive into her poetic, richly imaginative world through stories, tours, a concert and a pop dance party, in a playful and joyful atmosphere for the whole family, ages 3 and up. SATURDAY Who are you, George Sand? A family seek-and-find activity to discover the famous author. Guided by Stéphanie, Fabien or Catherine, children and adults explore the museum’s collections through clues, anecdotes and discoveries… Keep your eyes peeled! The Doigts dans la Prise team turns the afternoon into a festive, offbeat pop dance party, 100% Girl Power with an all-female artist lineup. Come dance and celebrate George Sand’s free and daring spirit as a family! DJ: Grandpamini & Lolaloo des bois Duration: 15:00-17:00 SUNDAY What hearts say With our storyteller Laure, all attentive little ears travel into George Sand’s rich, sensitive and wondrous world. Stories, imagination and poetry come together to make children and adults dream. In the museum courtyard, storytelling at: 10:15, 11:00 and 12:00 Duration: 30 minutes Harp story The discovery concert Agnès Peytour introduces children and their parents to the harp and the Romantic musical repertoire. Through this discovery concert, the harpist traces the fascinating history of the instrument and talks with the audience in a program inspired by nature and by George Sand’s ties with the artists of her time.
