Ground Control turns football into a space for connection, celebration, and reflection.
Officially, football is twenty-two players, a ball, and a referee. But in reality, it is also chants rising from the stands in Portuguese, Arabic, or Wolof. This summer, as the World Cup moves across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Ground Control is turning its hall into a huge popular playing field where football becomes a reason to play, think, dance, debate, and above all, meet one another. Fanzone highlights and match screenings Broadcasts on giant screens throughout the hall, in an atmosphere designed as a journey through the cultures of the nations in play. Alternative & inclusive football At Ground Control, football goes far beyond the four white lines. On the program: Walking football, Quadball, Subbuteo, Foot-golf, XXL Bonzini table football, demonstrations, and introductory sessions open to everyone. E-sport The World Cup, controller edition. Ground Control also takes on the feel of a gaming HQ with: FIFA tournaments, spontaneous challenges, e-sport activities, and matches between strangers who may end up spending the evening together. Football pitch Here, everyone can play. Throughout the competition, an unusual 8.5m x 11m football pitch will be set up in the hall. Freely accessible, bookable via the Joga app, or open to spontaneous play. Prediction league Even poor predictors will have their moment of glory Throughout the World Cup, Ground Control is launching a major prediction tournament with Mon Petit Prono. Football culture & events Vintage jerseys, screenings, and collective evenings. Throughout the competition, Ground Control will host: La brocante So Foot, screenings, themed karaoke nights, participatory workshops, association stands, and cultural events around football.
