LooLooLook Gallery, a contemporary art gallery located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, presents XiaoWei Yuan’s solo exhibition from June 4 to July 5, 2026.
XiaoWei Yuan Alice in the Illusory Realm June 4 — July 5, 2026 LooLooLook Gallery is pleased to announce XiaoWei Yuan’s solo exhibition, presented as part of the 9th edition of Printemps Asiatique Paris. A sensitive journey through matter, memory, and imagination With Alice in the Illusory Realm, XiaoWei Yuan unfolds a universe where matter becomes memory, metamorphosis, and sensitive language. Through an immersive installation combining ceramics, wood, and organic forms, the artist creates an inner landscape suspended between dream and contemplation. Flowers of light emerge from plant-like structures, silent basins converse with sculptures in hybrid forms, while the gallery transforms into a living space at the boundary between reality and imagination. Inspired by natural cycles and informed by both Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Dream of the Red Chamber, the exhibition invites visitors to move through a world where each work seems to breathe, grow, and transform. At the heart of XiaoWei Yuan’s practice, earth is never fixed: it becomes trace, rebirth, and meditation. Shaped and then assembled, the material gives rise to works that are both fragile and enduring, where the artistic gesture enters into dialogue with time and the living world. At the crossroads of Chinese craft traditions and a contemporary approach to sculpture, the artist develops a deeply sensory body of work, where wonder becomes a way of inhabiting the world.
