A work from the immersive exhibition designed by students from the Beaux-Arts de Paris at Espace Niemeyer, in dialogue with the architecture to offer a sensory and poetic experience around love and the memory of the place.
Cheri, cherie, cheri·e : eat a cherry and make a wish !, Installation, performance, sound - Red tulle, cherries, bird calls, 2026 Cheri, cherie, cheri·e : eat a cherry and make a wish ! is set within Espace Niemeyer, a place charged with communist history and imagination, which becomes the ground for a sensitive exploration of its symbols. On the lawn, a tulle carpet spelling out the word “CHERRY” echoes a performative presence inside the building, where cherries are offered in exchange for wishes. Through the figure of the cherry — between Le Temps des cerises, the blackbird, and revolutionary imagery — a connection is woven between space, collective memory, and intimate projection. Each cherry will be a desire, each stone a possibility. Elias Galindo-Lopez was born in 1989 in Mexico. He is an artist and performer based in Paris. Trained in dance, he develops a transdisciplinary practice combining performance, sound, installation, and objects, often guided by intuition and improvisation. Nourished by knowledge connected to birds, plants, and stars, his work explores sensitive relationships between humans and non-humans, between living beings and the elements. A graduate of ENSAD Nancy and ENSAPC, he has presented his work in France and Mexico.
