Every first weekend in June, Bièvres becomes the capital of photography. The Fair is organized by the Photoclub Paris Val-de-Bièvre with the support of the Municipality. It welcomes many visitors from all corners of the globe. They all share one common trait: a love for photography. For two days, the heart of Bièvres beats to the rhythm of exhibitions, conferences, various markets (second-hand and photographic antiques, new items and services, artists), and activities. Over the years, the Fair has kept the flame alive by reinventing itself to keep pace with the times and by offering a rich program dedicated to photography.
Photographer Jean-Christophe Béchet will be the guest of honor at the Fair, presenting two exhibitions: "Sauvage matérialité" and "Macadam Color." He lives and works in Paris. Blending black & white and color, film and digital, 35mm and medium format, Polaroid and "photographic accidents," he seeks the "right tool"—the one that will allow him to meaningfully dialogue between an interpretation of reality and photographic materiality. The Fair embraces all aspects of photography. It will feature numerous activities: raffles, city-wide exhibitions, photowalks, photo contests, and more.
