To mark the opening of the first retrospective dedicated to photographer Camille Vivier, the MEP invites you to a talk with the artist, in conversation with Jurgen Maelfeyt, artistic director of Art Paper Editions, and Victoria Aresheva, exhibition curator at the MEP. A signing session is scheduled at the bookshop from 4 p.m.
This discussion will be an opportunity to explore Camille Vivier’s artistic universe. For more than twenty-five years, she has developed a body of work at the crossroads of fine-art photography and fashion photography, where bodies, objects, and sculptural forms come together in images that are at once sensual, mysterious, and unsettling. The event will begin with a conversation between Camille Vivier and Victoria Aresheva, curator of the exhibition, about the artist’s career and the works presented at the MEP. Together, they will revisit Camille Vivier’s creative process, her visual and cultural references, and the various figures and motifs that run through her work: the female body, sculpture, anthropomorphic objects, and the tensions between matter and the living. The second part will be devoted to publishing and Camille Vivier’s relationship with the photobook. She will speak with Jurgen Maelfeyt, artistic director of Art Paper Editions, about their past collaborations and the process of creating books, from concept to layout.
Price: €0 to €14.
