What if the best spot in early June were right by the Canal Saint-Martin? From June 4 to 7, a rather special pop-up ice cream shop is setting up on quai de Jemmapes. Created by Hendrick’s Gin, the “Sgroppino Bar” reimagines the codes of the Parisian ice cream shop in an immersive, summery version, blending Italian inspiration, frozen creations, and a waterside stop by the canal.
For four days, this black-and-white counter will put the spotlight on the Sgroppino, a frozen cocktail inspired by Italian tradition, reinterpreted for the occasion by four bartenders from well-known Parisian spots: Tékes, Carboni’s, Tiger, and Les Bains. A custom cocktail menu will be available on site, alongside a selection of Spritz to enjoy by the water or take away for a stroll along the canal. To accompany this summer interlude, two ice cream flavors have been created in collaboration with Glazed, a Parisian benchmark for artisanal ice cream: a cucumber & rose sorbet and an orange blossom & cocoa ice cream, directly inspired by the iconic infusions of the Scottish house. These creations will be offered to visitors throughout the weekend. Designed as a sensory and visual experience, the Sgroppino Bar will combine immersive staging, exclusive creations, and a leisurely summer atmosphere just steps from the Canal Saint-Martin.
