Learn to identify seasonal edible and medicinal wild plants with a qualified botanist and herbalist!

For 1.5 hours, we’ll stroll through a small pocket of nature in the heart of Paris, discovering seasonal wild plants! The walk is a chance to learn how to identify them, and also to understand their traditional uses as edible, medicinal, or craft plants! This walk is open to all levels. No prior knowledge of botany is needed. We’ll take the time to identify the plants we come across, discuss their properties, their place in urban or natural ecosystems, and share a few anecdotes about each one! We’ll teach you how to recognize some of these common wild plants and share the rules for safely foraging wild plants. Please meet 5 minutes before the start time at the garden entrance, in front of the book exchange box. Please arrive on time so we don’t delay the start of the walk! If you’re late, come anyway: the park is small, and you’ll find the group easily! Remember to bring something to take notes with, as well as clothing and gear suited to the weather! Price: pay what you can and feel is fair, with contributions collected at the end of the walk! (suggested price: €10 per person) If you’d like to stay informed about upcoming dates, you can, depending on your preference: - Follow Coucou Les Plantes events on Eventbrite - Join the WhatsApp group dedicated to botanical walks: https://chat.whatsapp.com/EhSHkuMNNkxKRJcjRAIAvq (we also share the group’s live location there for latecomers, as well as information about seasonal plants) - Subscribe to the newsletter dedicated to botanical walks to receive the schedule by email once a month (no spam, promise!) - Follow the instagram account @coucoulesplantes, where upcoming walk dates are always available via the link in bio! - Join the Skool community, where you’ll find free introductory courses on identifying and foraging wild plants, as well as a community of learners to chat with! This community has only just launched and will be built up gradually :) - Read Ondine’s blog, which offers, among other things, articles about wild plants and foraging! Your guide: Ondine – Graduate of the École des plantes de Paris, field botany student at the Université d’Amiens and Urban Ecology student at the École du Breuil, and creator of content about wild plants on @coucoulesplantes. She shares her knowledge through an approach that is rigorous, accessible, and rooted in observing living things. - A small note before you register: We’re currently dealing with a situation that has become difficult for us: many people register but then don’t show up on the day, without letting us know. This makes organization more complicated for us and prevents other people from enjoying the walk. That’s why we ask you to take a brief moment to think before confirming your registration: are you truly available and sure you want to come? If something unexpected comes up anyway, don’t worry: these things happen. We simply ask that you cancel your registration on Eventbrite as early as possible, so someone else can take your place (there is sometimes a waiting list). We have chosen not to ask for payment in advance, so that everyone can contribute freely at the end of the walk according to their means. This approach is based on mutual trust, and it matters to us, but it can only work over time if the people who register actually come. Thank you for your attention and kindness. See you very soon!
