Come and discover this unique monument celebrating the Revolution!
For the bicentenary of the Revolution in 1989, the City of Paris commissioned Ivan Theimer to create a commemorative monument. Working with Michel Jantzen, chief architect for historic monuments, on its construction, the sculptor designed a seven-metre-high monument paying tribute to the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. Its form draws inspiration from the architecture of Egyptian temples, a style dear to the artist, while its richly detailed decoration incorporates numerous references to works created during the French Revolution. The ticketing link will be activated in the first half of September.
