A talk with Léa Mosconi, architect, lecturer at ENSA Belleville, author of Living Architecture, Architecture of the Living, and president of the Maison d'Architecture d'Ile-de-France
From tits and dragonflies to dogs, from bats and horses to deer, animals share the city with us. Thinking about the city alongside animals and considering the conditions for their presence means both taking the collapse of biodiversity seriously and addressing the challenges of coexistence. How can we share the city with animals—other living beings whose bodies and behaviors differ so greatly from our own? How can we welcome declining species whose presence is essential to a vibrant, livable city? This year, Léa Mosconi, author of Living Architecture, Architecture of the Living (éditions 205), is leading a design studio with ENSA Paris Belleville students on the "Parliament of Animals," exploring how the space animals need can be taken into account in the city. This talk will also provide an opportunity to present several student models. In partnership with the Ecole Nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Belleville; Credits: ENSA Belleville
