August 23, 3:00 PM Visit to the parc de la Butte-du-Chapeau-Rouge During the interwar period, more than 60 parks and gardens came to life in the Capital. All are geometric and often designed by architects; this was the Art Deco period. Spectacle was not the goal. The aim was to offer walks for everyone. Accessibility was a priority. Sports activities were encouraged. The plantings are regular, and repeated pruning often maintains their volumes.
