A railway heritage site turned into a preserved natural space

August 24, 2:30 p.m. La Petite Ceinture in the 12th arrondissement. With its railway and ecological identity, the presence of La Petite Ceinture at the heart of many neighborhoods is an essential part of Paris’s heritage. A 1.7 km section, located between the villa du Bel-Air and the rue des Meuniers, has been accessible to Parisians and visitors since August 2019. This new green space, where wild, spontaneous vegetation has developed, plays an important role as an ecological corridor. It is not unusual to spot kestrels and wall lizards there… The nearby bois de Vincennes, a reservoir of biodiversity, helps make this place a green network that supports the preservation of wild species. Meeting point: 70 Boulevard Soult, at the T3 tram stop, Alexandra David-Neel
