Under the Paris sky… but at night! This summer, join the Association Française d’Astronomie teams for free evenings of stargazing and astronomy activities. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Paris, 20 parks and gardens will be open to everyone between June 27 and September 5, 2026.
The AFA’s skywatching guides will point binoculars and telescopes toward the starry sky, away from the city lights, offering Parisians of all ages—whether alone or with family—the chance to take part in observations and workshops on finding their way around the night sky. What are those shining stars? How can you identify and find them? Depending on the date and time, visitors will be able to look through a telescope and observe the Moon’s craters, deep-sky objects such as nebulae and star clusters, or simply discover—or rediscover—the constellations in our night sky and the myths associated with them. Let yourself be amazed by a journey through space and history, to the farthest reaches of the universe and the night. Dates and locations From June 27 to September 5, 22 evenings are planned across 20 parks in the capital. At each park, you will find us at the location marked by an orange rectangle on the maps below. Times: From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. [New for 2026]: Les Arènes de Lutèce (5th arrondissement) and parc Georges Brassens (15th arrondissement) are joining the program for the first time. And, of course, there will be a chance to observe the partial solar eclipse on August 12 at parc André Citroën. Meet us from 7 p.m. Access conditions: The evenings are free, open to everyone, and require no registration. You do not need any equipment, but if you would like to bring your binoculars or telescope, this will be an opportunity to use them with the activity leaders on site. Remember to bring warm clothing, as it can get chilly toward the end of the evening.
