NICO DEY (10:30 p.m.) (Rock - Deux Roses Records - Paris, FR) Born in Paris in 1993 to a Franco-American family, Nicolas grew up immersed in a deeply Anglo-American rock culture. At 11, hearing a guitarist cover Nirvana’s Polly, he had an instant revelation: this was the music he wanted to make, and nothing else. Before fully devoting himself to his project, he pursued studies that took him to New-York, where he spent two years and played with La Raza, an Afro-punk band from Brooklyn. He then headed to Buenos Aires, the city where he wrote his first songs. Reserved and sensitive, Nicolas says little but writes a lot. Through music, he gradually chooses to reveal what he keeps inside, giving birth to an intimate, deeply felt debut album.
