BLIND YEO (10:30 p.m.) (Psych pop - Falmouth, UK) Led by Will Greenham and Anosuka Helm, Blind Yeo draws on a shifting line-up born from its collective spirit. The project began in the quiet solitude of lockdown before coming to life during an explosive creative residency at the Cornish Bank, newly opened in 2022 – a vibrant nonprofit community arts space in the heart of Falmouth that has become the hub of a thriving Cornish underground scene, of which Blind Yeo is an integral part. The band has since evolved into a psychedelic carnival of sounds that absolutely needs to be experienced live, as proven by their memorable sets at festivals including Shambala, Smuggler's, Solfest, Cornish Bank Summer Camp, Tropical Pressure, and the psychedelic festivals of Brighton, Manchester and Édimbourg. Blind Yeo self-produced their debut EP, Echoes, in April 2023, with tracks aired on NTS, Soho Radio and BBC Introducing. It was followed in May 2024 by their first single on Lost Map, “Otherside” – a six-and-a-half-minute whirlwind blending motorik rhythms, rave synths and shredded electric guitar riffs, which received support from BBC 6 Music’s New Music Fix. Blind Yeo’s second EP, Anam Cara, was recorded last summer in the cob house of guitarist and sound engineer Dan Gilbert, an off-grid solar-powered studio tucked away in the woods near the north coast of Cornouailles. Rather than release it as a standalone independent album, they decided to pair it with Echoes to create a debut compilation album, Echoes / Anam Cara. Without looking back, they channel punk’s spirit of revolt to speak about the present. This approach extends into a visual aesthetic that breaks with the genre’s traditional codes. Between an embraced legacy and a claimed modernity, their image becomes a manifesto in its own right, as powerful as their riffs on stage. Black Pigs give everything. Live performance is their element: an outlet where joy, rage and catharsis collide, offered to the audience without restraint.
