Described by Jazzwise magazine as “a brilliant improviser,” guitarist Romain Pilon has established himself over the years as one of the leading figures on the European jazz scene. Trained in the United States and based in Paris since 2004, he has performed and recorded alongside numerous internationally renowned musicians. His career has taken him to clubs and festivals around the world. Returning to 38Riv, he presents his Standards Trio project. The trio revisits the great classics of the Great American Songbook with freedom and elegance, along with compositions by Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Duke Ellington, and many others. An evening of swing, interaction, and improvisation.
