The story tells the fabulous epic of thousands of birds setting out in search of the majestic Simorgh, their promised sovereign. Among them, we follow the journey of six of these birds: a hoopoe, a duck, a parrot, a peacock, a heron, and a nightingale… To reach the mysterious place where the queen lives, they must cross the seven dangerous valleys and face their fears. An initiatory journey that puts their physical and moral strength to the test as they pursue their quest… Will they make it to the queen? And will she be able to give them what they are looking for? "The Flight of the Birds" is the youth adaptation of the famous tale "The Conference of the Birds" by the Persian poet Farid Al-Din Attar, written in the 12th century. Sandrine brings this powerful story to life, enriching the tale with Persian songs and dances while accompanying herself on the daf (Iranian percussion). This performance is presented as part of the Paris festival of shows for young audiences "L’été des p’tits futés", organized by the Théâtre Darius Milhaud, located near the La Villette and Buttes-Chaumont parks.
