Alberto Giacometti settled in Paris in the Montparnasse neighborhood in the early 1920s. From December 1, 1926, he lived and worked with his brother Diego in a modest studio on rue Hippolyte-Maindron (14th arrondissement). He would remain there until the end of his life, except during the Occupation. It was in this studio that Alberto Giacometti created almost all of his work; it was also in this neighborhood that he would meet many other artists. This guided tour is offered by the Comité d'histoire de la Ville de Paris. A digital application highlighting the history of artists' studios in the Montparnasse neighborhood was created by the Département de l'histoire, de la mémoire et des musées associatifs (Direction des affaires culturelles) as part of the Ville de Paris participatory budget. Six walks are available: "Around the musée Bourdelle", "Around la Ruche", "Around the cemetery", "Around Giacometti", "Around Monsouris" and "Around the Musée Zadkine.

Price: Free tour subject to availability (25 people per tour). Booking required from July 28, 2026
