Jean-Baptiste Rannou's quartet explores a dreamlike world blending lyrical reverie with boundless energy. The group performs modern jazz in which melody and improvisation are ever-present, influenced by the sounds of Brian Blade, Shai Maestro and Melissa Aldana. United by their own unique chemistry, the four musicians seek to embody a colorful, modern and decidedly vibrant form of jazz. Entering their world is like opening a door onto a garden filled with vivid colors, clouds shaped like mythical creatures and a melody playing in the background that somehow feels as though you have always known it.
